One of the passengers arriving Habana from New Orleans on 9 Feb 1860 was the future famous financier J. Pierpont Morgan. At this time, Mr. Morgan was only 22 years of age and had started his banking career only 3 years before.

As you may know, Dr. Finlay was the first to postulate the transmission of yellow fever via the aedes aegypti mosquito. He was nominated seven times for the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine but was never awarded this honor.
