If you receive the above message when trying to search one of our databases please be aware that this problem is due to enhanced default security settings incorporated by Oracle in the latest (January 2014) Java plug-ins for browsers and not to anything we have done at CubaGenWeb.
To correct this problem follow the following steps:
- On your computer menu select "All Programs" and locate a folder named "Java". In it click on the command "Configure Java". This should take you to the Java Control Panel.
- On the Java Control Panel select the "Security" tab.
- Click the button "Edit Site List".
- On the "Exception Site list" click the "Add" button.
- On the blank entrry box that appears type "http://www.cubagenweb.org" (without the quotes), then click the "Add" button again.
- On the warning screen that appears click the "Continue" button.
- On the Exception Site List click the "OK" button
- On the Java Control Panel click the "OK" button.
After doing the above steps, you will still receive a warning about an "Unsigned Application" wanting permission to run. Just click the "RUN" button and the search should proceed. You should only need to do this the first time you access the search form.
