I don't like the idea of publishing personal information, but some people
have asked about my background, so here is the "Web byte" version, abridged
for privacy reasons.
I was born in Cienfuegos "The Pearl of the South", on the southern coast of Cuba, in my grandfather
Felipe Silva's big house shown here (I understand this house is currently
the home of a radio station and is painted in a bright color).
I grew up in La Habana, in the neighborhoods of El Vedado and Miramar,
receiving my elementary education at the Colegio La Luz.
At the age of 11 I came to the US to pursue secondary education followed
by professional education. After graduation I briefly returned to Cuba
to pursue an engineering degree at the University of Habana in order
to obtain a Professional Engineer license. I then returned
to the US and have lived here ever since.
